Character Description:   Karisa stands 5’6” with golden brown hair and changeable golden brown eyes (they appear to have more gray in them depending on what color she wears). She is a fraternal twin to Kaden Valadia. She looks very much like her Dad, whom she has not met. Karisa is currently 25 years old. Because of her wolfen father she heals faster, has a much faster metabolism, and can run faster then an average human. She has not experienced the physical shifting as of yet, it is unknown if she will.

Mental Description: Karisa has always sensed something “wild” inside her, to compensate she has always kept tight control over her emotions. Karisa is the more serious of the two twins and tends to like things planned out in her life. She is very close to her Mom (who raised her and Kaden alone) and her twin but tends to keep the rest of the world (especially men) at a safe distance. Karisa majored in business and finance in college; she likes the security of numbers and facts. Her Mom tailored her entire life to raising her and Kaden giving them all the love and security she could manage alone so Karisa never really missed having a Dad but she did often wonder who he was and why he was not part of their lives.

Karisa was born on the island one of a pair of twins. Her Mother was the youngest adopted child of Angelique Valadia and was also raised on the island. She and her twin lived with their Mother in Valadia Estates until she was a year old. At one year of age the small family moved onto a small estate in Newcastle upon Tyne sitting right on the English-Scottish border. Karisa’s mother Marissa worked as an administrative assistant for a local business while she and Kaden were small. Karisa often had the feeling that her Mother worked to keep busy not because they ever needed the money. Sometimes she could see that something made her Mother really sad, whenever she would ask her Mom what was wrong her Mom would just smile and hug Karisa and find something to distract her from her questions.

  Karisa and Kaden attended boarding school beginning at age 14.It was during that time that her Mother’s hobby of photography became a career. The twins often flew to meet her wherever she was working when their school breaks came up. When they were seventeen her Mom had shown up at the school they attended and stayed for a week in a close by bed and breakfast. At the time Karisa had no idea their Mom was dying of cancer, she did not look or act sick. Later she would learn Marissa had come to say goodbye and make legal arrangements for her children’s future.

Her Mom had gone home to the island from there with the express intent of saying goodbye to everyone there as well, to look one last time on the rugged island that had been the first real home she knew. It was not until several years later that Karisa learned what had happened during her Mom’s stay on the island.

  The cancer had spread much faster and aggressively then even the human doctors had expected. While on the island, Marissa had gone into a steep decline and fallen into a coma. Angelique unwilling to allow her youngest child to die embraced her to be like she was, a vampire. The first time Karisa learned that her Mother was no longer “human” she had been worried at first that Marissa would be different then the warm loving mom she had known her entire life but soon found her worries to be unfounded.

  When she and Kaden were twenty five they made the decision to go in search of their Father after finding a letter when they were packing up some of their Mom’s things to be shipped to her on the island. They had a name now, Conner Nyte Breed.

  A phone call from her Mom while she and Kaden were in Africa had them making arrangements to travel home to the island.
